I’m Sylwia, an Edinburgh-based wedding photographer and the face behind Crofts & Kowalczyk, creating natural, editorial photographs for couples getting married in Scotland and beyond.
My approach is personal and unobtrusive. I want your photographs to feel like you — not like a template. I'll take the time to get to know you, understand what matters to you and create something that feels considered, natural and completely your own.

I photograph weddings ranging from intimate city celebrations to wild coastal weddings, beautiful country houses and some of Scotland's most spectacular castles. I work as a duo with my husband Simon who is the filmmaker behind our sister brand Wild Call Films. He creates cinematic wedding films for couples who want to remember not just how their day looked, but how it felt. We have our studio in the buzzing seashore Leith district, from where the magic happens.

No two weddings are the same
It’s important for me to get to know my couples before the day so that I’m not a stranger turning up at the wedding, and I can adapt my approach to your priorities and personalities. I don't have a set formula for how your photographs should look. Some couples want a quiet, documentary record of the day. Others want something more fashion-led and expressive. Most want a mixture of both.
I'll work with you to understand what you want to remember, what makes the two of you tick and what makes your wedding yours. I'll create photographs that reflect that. And after the wedding I will put love and care into preparing the images to give a beautiful artistic interpretation of the day.

For couples who want both, we can work closely together on the day through our Fusion offering — photography + film created side by side. Simon creates wedding films through Wild Call Films, capturing the movement, voices, music and atmosphere and bringing moments alive.

We’re Sylwia & Simon
Hello hello, this is us.
We’re Sylwia the Photographer, and Simon the Filmmaker, although often just to confuse everyone we’re either both photographing or both videoing together. We help one another out all the time.
We both have art practices, hold exhibitions of our work, and shoot for brands and magazines around the world. And we count ourselves so lucky to have the privilege of working and having the opportunity to spend so much time alongside the person closest to us in the world.

Scotland is our amazing playground, one of the most beautiful places in the world to get married, from the rugged historic capital of Edinburgh, to the majestic Highlands and the romantic islands, and probably more castles per square inch than anywhere, and we photograph not only in Edinburgh, but love to travel throughout all of Scotland.
