The Caledonian (Waldorf Astoria) Hotel, Edinburgh

Another iconic landmark of Edinburgh is a historic railway hotel (yes, it used to be a railway station! You can still see the traces of this past in the spacious hall of the hotel’s bar area) with the grand ballroom viewing the Edinburgh Castle or for some even more importantly, Johnnie Walker Experience just across the road. The grand staircase offers some epic indoor photography options - great for some couple’s portraits but also larger family groups. If you’d like to go outside for some photos my recommendations would be arranging with the city access to Princes Street Gardens, the access is paid so I would not try to wing it on the wedding day but get these calm images with the iconic Ross Fountain and Edinburgh castle in the background in the late afternoon when the crowds moved on and the light is till soft.
