Carlowrie Castle, near Edinburgh

This fairytale (or otherwise known as Scottish baronial style) castle was built by a prosperous wine merchant from Leith (where my photography studio is based) so it holds a warm place in my heart. It has all you need for a great wedding - spectacular grounds, beautiful glass panelled pavilion that offers the best light during ceremony or toasts and is also conveniently located very close to Edinburgh Airport. I cannot recommend highly enough a stroll into the grounds for some portraits with the castle’s turrets making for an iconic backdrop. The front staircase with a tree lined drive opposite is a great location for some confetti throw to peak your celebrations. Just make sure your photographer does not reverse into the fountain!
