Dalhousie Castle, near Edinburgh

Dalhousie Castle has recently been beautifully refurbished and my photographer’s heart sings because the car park disappeared to the back of the castle revealing a spectacular, ivy covered front, which is now making for a great, clear backdrop for location portraits. The seat of Clan Ramsay was in the same family for 8 centuries until 1977! It is now one of the most elegant luxury Scottish retreats with beautiful interior (love the main staircase’s ceiling), modern bar area perfect for some editorial style portraits and many outdoor locations. My favourite part of photographing weddings and events at Dalhousie is the falconry bit. Love arriving at the castle and seeing the birds sunning themselves outside of the aviary and then being the ring bearers during the ceremony, making for a truly unique experience.
