Dundas Castle, near South Queensferry

Dundas Castle is one of Scotland’s grand houses, and one of our favourite things about it is the sweeping views across the landscape, which has its own llamas, one of which in particular is extremely sociable. The interior is beautiful, with great light (a photographer’s favourite) and a grand interior as well as having the ancient keep where many of the ceremonies are conducted. There are several different options for the ceremonies though, depending on guest numbers and inside versus outside.

Another great thing about Dundas is its location, being a short drive outside Edinburgh, and close by (but not too close…) Edinburgh airport. Guests who may already have travelled a long way to get to Scotland will likely appreciate not being asked to undertake a long journey into the Scottish Highlands (beautiful though the Highlands undoubtedly are). Guests can always explore the rest of Scotland after the wedding if they have the time.
