Gosford House, East Lothian

Certainly one of the grandest houses I got a chance to document events and weddings in Scotland and a location that makes my heart of a failed art historian (I ultimately got an MA in graphic design but art and history are very close to my heart) sing. It is full of exquisite artwork and everywhere you turn, the beautiful light streaming through floor to ceiling windows, creates options for stunning images. I could go on about trivia of their art collection for hours so let’s focus on the house as your wedding day destination. The two-tier marble grand hall (especially the staircases) is opulent and bright offering access to spacious balconies on both sides, one facing the sea and the other facing the woodland. Inside as you walk through to the opulent bar area there is a beautiful Dining Room and adjoining Octagon Room. The acres of woodland might be overwhelming to access on the wedding day but my favourite spot is a small cluster of ancient trees just off the driveway which is perfect for more intimate photos that not require a long trek into the woods. It is also a family home still.
