Prestonfield House Hotel, Edinburgh

With this luxury boutique hotel set at the foot of Arthur’s Seat one would have never known that we’re getting married in central Edinburgh! The owner (who also created the famous Witchery by the Castle) lavishly restored the interior of this 17th century mansion in rococo style with velvet walls and antique artwork. Side skimming light is a joy to create images but you’ll be also enjoying treats from Rhubarb, one of Edinburgh’s finest dining destinations with its take on modern Scottish cuisine which is really so much more than the haggis. It is ideal for these intimate destination weddings, although the nearby Stables Ballroom can host much larger events. Again, as with the whole interior of this house it is worth bearing in mind that it is on a darker, more romantic looking side. I take some inspiration from Baroque art to create images there. Fun fact, the hotel grounds include not only a golf club but also central Edinburgh’s only private hotel helipad. So if that is your favourite way of transportation for the wedding, I’ll be more than happy to capture your arrival in the photographs!
